SCOUTLY. NUTLEY.
We have had several instructive and enjoyable weekends at Scoutly this year. The annual Local Association Training Camp had, unfortunately, to be cancelled owing to most of the boys having been vaccinated, but those boys who were able to join in a holiday camp had a gay time.
A number of the boys have passed (and some others have tried) their Cook's Badge, some with honours, others with pains. In fact the examiner had "nightmare" after having sticks of "Twists" thrust at him to sample every Sunday for three weeks or so. No light matter this! A word to the P.L.’s it would save time, disappointment and good food if their Patrols were given more instruction before attempting this Test.
The bath has had its annual spring clean and is all the better for it. It was no joke this time, there being more than the usual amount of matter therein. "Phew," said Donald. NOW the non-swimmers are making efforts to learn before we go to Summer Camp.
The Rovers, as will be seen elsewhere, have been busy, and the camp looks very tidy now for our summer visitors. The site is very much sought after and is in full use by other Troops throughout the summer months.
